Karen and I had quite the experience when we stumbled upon Village Pizza & Deli in New Athens a couple of weeks ago. It was dinner time and we thought we would be daring and try the pizza place in New Athens. Let me take you on a delightful journey through flavors and fond memories.
Chicago-style stuffed pizza
As we sat down in the cozy ambiance, we couldn’t resist ordering a Chicago-style stuffed pizza with sausage and onions. Oh, my, it was a treat! The first bite took us by surprise. The taste of the pizza brought all the flavors together, yet each ingredient tasted distinct. It was like a symphony of flavors dancing on our taste buds.
What added to the charm of the experience was the quaint small-town feeling that Village Pizza & Deli’s storefront exuded. It felt like we were back in time, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. I knew right then that this place held something special, and we’d definitely return in the future.
Now, let me tell you about the pizza itself. The moment we took a bite, we noticed a unique twist – a slightly sweet flavor that elevated the entire experience. It was an unexpected but delightful touch that made their pizza stand out from the rest.

Karen and I learned that the dough and sauces are homemade, adding that comforting homemade touch that you can’t find in just any pizza joint. Each bite was a testament to the love and dedication poured into crafting their pizzas.
