I gotta tell ya, folks, if you’re looking for some a-maze-ing fun in Metro Northeast Illinois this fall, you’ve come to the right place! Corn mazes have become quite the popular pastime around these parts, and I’m here to be your guide.
Northern Illinois’ favorite corn mazes
Back in the north end of Illinois, there were several corn mazes we would visit during the fall. Kuipers was one we took the grandkids to. They had other farm-related things you could do. During the fall season, the farm transforms into a fall festival, offering a wide range of activities including hayrides, corn mazes, pig races, and petting zoos. Visitors can also pick their own pumpkins from the farm’s pumpkin patch, ensuring a truly authentic farm experience. The farm is known for its vast selection of pumpkins, ranging from small decorative ones to large ones perfect for carving.
We also visited Keller’s Farmstand. It was close to the house and easy to get to. They also had some good items to buy in their country store. Beyond the farm market, Keller’s Farmstand also offers various seasonal activities and events for visitors of all ages. During the fall, they host a pumpkin patch where families can pick their own pumpkins and enjoy hayrides. They also have a corn maze and other fun attractions to make the visit enjoyable for everyone. In the summer, visitors can partake in the famous sweet corn festival, where they can indulge in all things corn-related, including corn-eating contests and corn-themed games.
Of course, the premiere corn maze was Richardson’s Adventure Farm. They claim to have be the largest corn maze in the world. I believe their maze was 33 acres. Each year is a different theme for this year the theme is Bond, James Bond. During the fall season, the farm also hosts special events such as flashlight nights in the corn maze and a pumpkin festival. Visitors can also enjoy delicious farm-fresh food and drinks at the on-site market and cafe.
Metro East corn mazes
But now we’re in the Metro East area by St. Louis and we’ll have to find some new corn mazes to explore. Thanks to good old Google I could ask it for corn mazes near me. Some of the ones that came up were;
